The September general meeting is this Thursday night. We will be discussing intellectual property and what it has to do with your invention and business ideas.
Memm Wiggins will be giving a presentation on this very important subject and how to protect all of your hard work.
Memm Wiggins Bio:
Memminger E. Wiggins began practicing law in 1996 after graduating from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, located in Lansing, Michigan. The goal from the beginning was to provide prompt, professional, but yet personal, legal services to his clients. His law practice can be considered a “boutique” law firm in the sense that he limits his practice of law primarily to just those areas of law that includes patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and business/corporate law.
A South Carolina native, Mr. Wiggins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Clemson University. He worked as a research scientist at Clemson University and continued his post-graduate and graduate studies. After 13 years at the university, he decided to pursue a legal career and enrolled into the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While attending law school, he served as a law clerk for Michigan’s Attorney General’s Office. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in May 1996, to the North Carolina Bar in April 2010 and become a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in July 2008. Additionally, Mr. Wiggins is admitted to practice before the United States District Court District of South Carolina and the United States Tax Court.
In South Carolina Mr. Wiggins practiced primarily in the areas of corporate/business law, probate law and estate planning, and real estate law. In 2007 he sold his South Carolina law practice and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to pursue his original goal of practicing intellectual property law.
