Last Meeting – April 2018
James (Jim) Mussen
CEO, Entrepreneur, Inventor, Visionary
Jim started his career as a purchasing agent for a small electronics company in South Bend, Indiana which sold, serviced, designed, and installed various types of video, audio, and CCTV systems. Jim soon started designing the various systems for the companies Industrial, Commercial, and Broadcast Customers. This was at the same time that VCR and the Video Camera were being introduced to the consumer. He found a passion for designing these systems even though it took many months for a sale and installation to be completed.
The various equipment vendors that Jim used when designing these systems became interested in him working for them directly. Jim interviewed at a couple times, but it became evident that in order to work for one of these companies he would need a college degree. So Jim moved to Charlotte, NC to obtain that college degree. The priority of a college degree over working was the reason to move to Charlotte, his love for the business world took over. So Jim went to work for a local Charlotte AV company. The first thing that he observed at this company and others in the area is not one of them sold much of the magnetic media, i.e. videotape/audio tape. So Jim contacted the various manufacturers and started a company. From there he became one of the largest magnetic media manufacturers in the country.
To this day Jim uses his hands on experience and associations in developing products and services across the spectrum.
