Pepsi BoyerOriginally from New Orleans, Pepsi Boyér went to college at UNCA for a Bachelor in Science Degree and finished her studies with a Masters in Digital Communications. Her experience in education expands from pre-k to higher education focusing in areas of the Environmental Sciences, Engineering, IT and Simulation and Gaming. Her teaching philosophy focuses on creating passion for academia and her teaching practices bring forth powerful reflection and evaluation. Pepsi Boyér M.S. Division Director of Information Technology Central Piedmont Community College (704)330-6856 Di von BriesenD.I. von Briesen has been a technologist for 20 years, and a college teacher for the last ten. He lives in Charlotte and along with his wife is raising five children to follow in his footsteps, combining service with technology, education, and working to understand our natural world. D.I. created the EcoBox, a self-contained living space made from a converted shipping container, founded the non-profit gDwell, and is active in Hackerspace Charlotte and working to get kids involved in STEM, in part thru partnerships with Discovery Place, Imaginon, and CPCC. He is a regular speaker on technology in education, and an active participant in the open courseware movement. In particular, D.I. is excited by the opportunities that web based tools offer for learning and teaching programming, and the much broader world of the open source maker movement. _________________________________________________ Last Months MeetingMike Weaver spoke to us about the success and pain of the serial inventor. His in depth knowledge in the field of computers and electronics that he presented was outstanding, and a true account of the trials and tribulations of product development and what it takes to succeed!
