February General Meeting
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
520 Elliot Street
Charlotte, NC 28202
The February general meeting is upon us. I am proud to present our Feb. speaker Justin Shook, which is a friend and associate of Scott Tarcy our VP.
Justin is a profession freelance rapid prototype specialist, which means to say that he can provide good products at a price based on very low overhead.
Justin Shook is a leading authority on low cost product development and 3D printing. Combining a mix of mechanical engineering education, Fortune 500 company experience, and a passion for design, Justin works with individuals and small businesses to deliver the most “bang” for each product development dollar. He is the founder of Shook Design, Koshook Sports, and a former Pinshape 3D printing designer of the month.
Justin first started learning about the 3D printing industry in 2010 at the University of Idaho. As his interest and passion for rapid prototyping, design, and entrepreneurship grew, he bought and assembled his first open-source 3D printer in 2012 as a hobby. Since then, Justin saw an opportunity, left his full-time position at John Deere, and started Shook Design in 2015 which now has four 3D printers and has served 60+ clients since establishment. His vision for his company is simple; provide low cost CAD design, 3D printed parts, and prototypes to lower the barrier of entry for anyone trying to bring their product ideas to life.
Most importantly, Justin is a 3D printing evangelist. He is fully invested in the long term vision of using 3D printing to change the way we manufacture goods to deliver more value and abundance to the world than what was traditionally thought possible. He is dedicated to the ideas of 3D manufacturing, design thinking, and generally helping people turn their ideas to reality.
Justin lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is an avid snowmobiler, motorcyclist, gear head, martial artist, gamer, and sports fan. He is supported by his two loving rescue dogs and a community of like minded individuals in the Charlotte area.
